Healthy Pets Northwest is a group of locally owned and operated businesses in Portland, Oregon. Julie Cantonwine opened the first Healthy Pets Northwest store nearly ten years ago on a shoestring budget and a vision of offering healthier, natural options to pet owners.
Today, her vision is still strong and the Healthy Pets Northwest group has grown to include three Portland locations and an online store. We are proud of the positive impact Healthy Pets Northwest has had on awareness of healthier pet nutrition and for the many loyal customers we serve.

Julie Cantonwine
Founding Partner Healthy Pets Northwest, Inc
Julie established herself as a leader in the Portland holistic pet care and nutrition community with the founding of Healthy Pets Northwest. She built the company around a belief of providing researched-based, natural options for animal companions. Today, Julie remains at the forefront of natural pet care by listening to customers, attending conferences, studying journals, reviewing research, and collaborating with other professionals in the field. Her broad network of professionals includes holistic veterinarians, product representatives, alternative medical practitioners, and animal trainers.
Julie is the proud caregiver of two fine dogs, Brodie and Caesar, who enthusiastically test the durability of toys and taste of foods offered at Healthy Pets Northwest. Oh, and her cat, Olive, enjoys organic cat food and an occasional clam treat, too.

Laura Amiton
Owner Healthy Pets Northwest Alberta
A Portland native, Laura draws from her experiences to help educate pet owners about natural foods and remedies available at Healthy Pets Northwest. Health seminars and animal adoption events are part of Laura’s involvement in community outreach. It is important to Laura that Healthy Pets Northwest has a relationship deeper than retail sales with their customers.
Laura is dedicated to healthy, natural living for her own pets, too. Her two cats, Mia and Tiegan, are avid raw diet eaters and have tested most of the supplements, treats, foods, litters and toys that the store carries. Feel free to ask what are their favorites! Laura’s answer will always be straight from the heart.
